Powering the Future: EV Charging Infrastructure Rollout

Client: Phoenix Works

Project Overview: In 2014 and 2015, Durkan & Sons played a vital role in expanding the UK’s electric vehicle (EV) charging network. We partnered with Phoenix Works to install the crucial groundwork for EV charging points across the country.

What We Did:

  • Excavations: We carried out all necessary excavation work across multiple sites, ensuring sites were fully prepared for the installation of EV charging points.
  • RC Bases: We installed multiple reinforced concrete bases, engineered to provide a stable and durable foundation for each charging unit.
  • Ducting: We laid all required ducting to seamlessly connect the charging points to the power grid.
  • Reinstatement: We meticulously reinstated each site, minimizing disruption to the surrounding environment and ensuring a clean and professional finish.

Project Challenges: This project required careful coordination with multiple site locations and varying ground conditions. Our team’s expertise and flexibility ensured efficient project delivery while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

Project Outcomes: By providing essential groundworks for this EV charging infrastructure, Durkan & Sons helped Phoenix Works meet the growing demand for sustainable transportation options. Our work contributes to the UK’s transition to a cleaner, greener future.
